Josh Rogers made his very first left handed start for the Baltimore Orioles last night. He notched his very first win as well. Of the 11k+ that attended the game, it appears a thousand were his friends and family. The placed rocked. The Orioles had scouted him extensively this season and his strong last two months put him on the radar for a trade and this call up.

Rogers pitched five innings. He struck out two. When it counted.

Josh Rogers allowed seven hits, a home run, and came back after a challenge to get the final out again. This time with the bases full via swinging strikeout. He walked a batter and sat 91-92 with his fastball. His backdoor slider appeared effective to right handed hitters.

The Hitting. After being shut down by Jays starter Thomas Pannone in Toronto, the Orioles treated him a piñata in Camden Yards. Craig Gentry homered and singled twice. Adam Jones went four for five raising his batting average to .284. Tim Beckham homered and Renato Núñez singled, was HBP and walked in two at bats. Chris Davis was three for five with a crushed double.

Ryan Meisinger allowed a hit but no runs in the sixth inning. Mike Wright a run in two. Tanner Scott closed it out allowing a run.
