The Baltimore Orioles travelled to the Windy City on Tuesday and found the confines friendly as they defeated the Chicago Cubs 4-2 and in the process, extended their winning streak to nine games. So much for those who thought the day off might break the team’s momentum.

Trailing 2-0 as they batted in the third inning, the Orioles scored a run in the third, scored two in the fourth and finally scored their fourth run in the seventh inning.

Anthony Santander (1 for 4, 1 RBI) plated Cedric Mullins (2 for 4, 1 run scored, 2 stolen bases) in the third inning. Ramon Urias (3 for 4, 1 run scored, 2 RBI) hit a two-run homerun in the fourth and then Jorge Mateo (2 for 4, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base) homered in the seventh.

Jordan Lyles (6-7) made the most of his start by allowing 2 runs on 7 hits (1 homerun), walking 1 and striking out 5.

Jorge Lopez recorded his 17th save with a 1.0 inning pitched, 1 strikeout effort.
