Those immortal words of Manager Lou Brown in the movie Major League resonated Friday night at OPACY as the Orioles won 3-1, ironically enough, over the Cleveland Indians, the team the movie was about. The Orioles have now won three games in a row if you were wondering.

Keegan Akin started and was solid on the mound. Akin faced 19 batters over 5.0 scoreless innings and allowed 3 hits and a walk while striking out 4. He threw 86 pitches, 64 for strikes and pitched his way out of runners in scoring position in both the 2nd and 3rd innings.

Hunter Harvey pitched the sixth inning and surrendered Cleveland’s lone run; his line: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 K.

Cole Sulser (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K) earned the win with the help of Ryan Mountcastle’s (1 for 4, 1 run scored, 2 RBI) 7th inning two-run homerun.

Tanner Scott struck out the side in the 8th inning and Paul Fry allowed 2 base runners in the 9th to make it interesting but closed out the game, earning his second save.

DJ Stewart went 2 for 3 with a double while Anthony Santander (0 for 2, 1 RBI, 1 BB) hit an eighth inning sac fly with the bases loaded to knock in the Orioles 3rd run.

2021 Record: 20-37
