Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays was the Orioles third in four games at Sahlen Field. Collectively, they were out scored 31-12. On the plus side, Baltimore pitchers did not give up a Vladimir Guerero, Jr homerun on Sunday. Regardless, I am certain the team is happy to leave Buffalo.

Ryan Mountcastle‘s (1 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 BB) first inning homerun gave the Orioles a brief lead. That lead only lasted one inning, however.

Newly recalled, Ramon Urias went 1 for 3 with a double, 1 RBI and a walk. Maikel Franco (1 for 4) was the beneficiary of that RBI as he scored Baltimore’s second run.

Ryan McKenna, newly recalled as well, went 2 for 5.

Jorge Lopez started and took the loss by allowing 5 runs on 10 hits over 4.2 innings. He walked 4 and struck out 2 as well.

Dillon Tate continues to shine; the right-handed reliever struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced in the 7th and 8th innings.

Buffalo might be in the rear-view mirror, but Houston is on the horizon.
