The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Kansas City Royals by a score of 8-1 on Friday night. Royals pitcher Jonathan Heasley limited the Orioles to a lone hit through 7.0 innings. The drought continued into the 8th inning until Adley Rutschman’s (1 for 3, 1 2B) one out double.

Anthony Santander (2 for 4, 1 HR, 1 run scored, 1 RBI) put the Orioles lone run on the board in the 9th inning with his 10th homerun of the season.

Pinch hitting for Austin Hays (0 for 3), Ryan McKenna (1 for 1) added to the “hit total”.

The game was not a good one for starter Bruce Zimmermann (2-5). The lefty was the polar opposite of Heasley, allowing 7 runs on 10 hits, including 2 homeruns, and struck out 2 over a laborious 4.2 innings. Zimmermann has now lost his last four starts (20.2 IP, 34 H, 22 Runs, 9.58 ERA).

Recently acquired, Austin Voth, made his Orioles debut, allowing 1 run on 1 hit, a homerun, walked 1 and struck out 2 in 1.1 innings of relief.
