Kevin Gausman started at 1:10 PM in 36-degree weather. He went with a full overhead wind up and overcame two Trey Mancini singles to left field in the first inning. He mixed a 75 MPH curveball into start the third inning. Kevin Gausman fell behind Candelaria and grooved a two-seam fastball 2-0 for a right field home run. He did make it through six and he flashed a 96 MPH fastball in that inning.

Player of the Game
Danny Valencia pounded a change up to the left-field seats. Valencia is the only Orioles that has a home run off of Tigers starter Matthew Boyd. Now has two.

Starting Pitching
Kevin Gausman was throwing his fastball 93 MPH and had his split-change working He stranded four runners through two innings. Poor execution allowed the solo home run in the third. The set up was inside and he leaked middle-middle. Kevin hung a breaking ball to Miguel Cabrera. To give the Tigers a 2-to-1 lead. In the sixth inning.
Highlighted Hitting moments:
- Danny Valencia goes yard. There were only two hits into the seventh. Getting to be a trend.
- Trey Mancini doubled and advanced to third on a Craig Gentry bunt. Safe as well. Top of the eighth inning.
- Manny Machado singled on a 3-1 pitch to tie the game.
- Adam Jones drove in the lead run with a big sacrifice fly.
- Chris Davis hit a 400 foot single to drive in the fourth Orioles run.
- Luis Sardinas homered in a pinch-hit ninth-inning opportunity.

- Kevin does not give up a bunch. Left in the seventh first and third.

- Darren O’Day gave up blown save 3-run homer. To John Hicks. On a nothing slider.
- Pedro Araujo, in an unusual ninth-inning role, served up his second pitch as a game-winning homer to Dixon Machado.

- Fantastic defensive play for Vielma in the seventh inning.

Manny Machado played a JaCoby Jones grounder into a base hit. No error assigned though. He then missed a liner to his right off his glove.
