Milone settled down but the Pirates extended the lead to 3-0 with a two out RBI double by 2B Kevin Kramer in the top of the 4th.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Orioles finally got on the board when Rio Ruiz doubled only to be driven in by a Pedro Severino double to cut the lead to 3-1. They weren’t done though as Anthony Santander reached on an infield single before Jose Iglesias smacked a double to the right field corner, scoring Severino and moving Santander to 3rd. Chris Davis tied the game 3-3 on a ground out to second base that scored Santander. Andrew Velazquez then hit a sharp single into left field, scoring Iglesias and giving the Orioles a 4-3 lead. The O’s weren’t done as Hanser Alberto came up next and deposited a 391 ft home run over the left field fence to extend the Orioles lead to 6-3 ending Trevor Williams‘ day.
After Milone got the Pirates 1-2-3 in the top of the 5th, the Orioles got back on the board when Severino continued his hot game with an opposite field two-run homer to make it 8-3. Later in the inning, Alberto said whatever you can do, I can do better when he hit his second home run of the game to left, this time a three-run shot making it 11-3.
Josh Bell ended Milone’s night with a solo home run to lead off the 6th to make it 11-4. Milone went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Brandon Hyde went to his pen and brought in Kohl Stewart to eat some innings. Stewart got the next three batters out to keep it 11-4.
Stewart ended up pitching the last four innings, no hitting the Pirates and picking up a rare four inning save as the Orioles won 11-4. The Orioles improved to 6-8.
