John Means start to the game was not a good sign. Means lasted just two-thirds of an inning after allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and walking one. Anthony Santander got one run back with his 7th homer of the year in the bottom of the first.
Jorge Lopez relieved Means and allowed two runs to put the Nats up 5-1, but the Orioles would battle back.
Pedro Severino‘s 6th inning 3 run homerun pulled the O’s within one and they tied the game an inning later.
A throwing error by Rio Ruiz in the 8th allowed Juan Soto to score and tagged Travis Lakins, Sr with the loss.
Santander finished the game 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI; he is batting .271 with a .935 OPS. Severino went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI.
