Cedric Mullins led off the game with a homerun to right field and played a key role in the Orioles 4-2 win over the New York Yankees.
Mullins, who went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, added a second homerun in the 7th inning. That bomb to centerfield marked the outfielder’s first career multi-homerun game. The Orioles centerfielder is now slashing .365/ .419/ .576 on the year.
Pedro Severino contributed o the effort with a 2 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 walk night. Freddy Galvis went 1 for 1 with a double and 1 RBI before leaving the game due to injury.
Matt Harvey (2-1) made a quality start to earn the win. Harvey allowed 1 run on 3 hits while walking walking 3 and striking out 5 over 6.0 innings. Cesar Valdez pitched 1.1 innings and allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 to earn the save.
The defensive highlight of the night came in the 8th inning when Austin Hays threw out Aaron Judge at 3rd base following a Gio Urshela single to end the inning.
