The Orioles avoided a four-game sweep at the hands of the Boston Red Sox by winning 4-1 on Monday night.
The trio of Trey Mancini, Ryan Mountcastle and Cedric Mullins provided the offense and supported a solid effort by Orioles starter, Jorge Lopez.
Mountcastle (2 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI) homered in the 2nd inning and Mancini (2 for 4, 1 R, 2 RBI) did the same in the 6th inning. Mullins (1 for 4, 1 R) showed his hustle and baseball awareness by sprinting to a triple on a mis-handled ball in the 8th. He scored on a Mancini single.
Lopez allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out 5 but got a no-decision for his efforts.
Pedro Severino was 3 for 4 on the night.
