AFL EAST FALL STARS WON 6-5 OVER THE AFL WEST FALL STARS
In a game played at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the AFL East (Mesa, Salt River and Scottsdale) defeated the AFL West (Glendale, Peoria and Surprise). After allowing two runs in the top of the first, the East team answered that with four runs in their half of the first. JJ Bleday (Marlins) hit a two-run homerun (102.7 mph EV) to ignite the East offense and finished the game 2 for 3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 3 RBI. Bleday, Miami’s number 5 prospect, was named the MVP of the game.
Also homering for the East was the Giant’s number 6 prospect, Hunter Bishop (1 for 2, 1 HR, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI, 1 K). His fourth inning homerun gave the East a 5-2 lead. Bleday extended that lead to 6-2 with his fifth inning RBI single.
The West countered with three runs in the sixth inning: a two RBI triple off the bat of Nathan Eaton (Royals) and a RBI sac fly by Seuly Matias (Royals).
Orioles prospect Nick Vespi pitched the 7th inning and faced four batters, walking 1 and striking out 1. He was credited with a hold.
