The Baltimore Orioles lost 2-1 to the Oakland A’s on Tuesday. The game started out promising with the O’s jumping out to a first inning 1-0 lead. Anthony Santander (2 for 4, 1 Run Scored, 1 walk) singled, Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4, 1 2B) doubled him to third and Trey Mancini (2 for 4, 1 RBI) allowed him to score on his ground ball out.

After the first inning all the Orioles could manage was 6 hits while striking out 7 times; they also left 10 men on base.

Cedric Mullins went 1 for 4 with a walk.

Starting pitcher Chris Ellis gave up 4 hits, walked 3 and struckout 2 through 4.1 innings.

Mike Baumann (1-1) relieved Ellis and ended the fifth inning. A single, a walk and a double in the sixth inning plated 2 Oakland runs and tagged “Big Mike” with the loss. Baumann’s line was 1.2 IP, 2 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.

Felix Bautista (1.0 IP, 2 K) and Cesar Perez (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K) finished out the game.
