The Baltimore Orioles managed just four hits in a 3-0 loss in Detroit on Saturday. The lack of offense spoiled what was a solid effort by Bruce Zimmermann (2-2).

Zimmermann pitched 6.0 innings (he started the 7th and was removed following a Will Castro lead-off homerun) and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, on 7 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2. He also coughed up an Eric Haase homerun in the 5th inning.

Zimmermann took the loss in what was, by definition, a quality start; he did his job, the offense didn’t do its job.

Ramon Urias went 1 for 4 with a double and started both of the Orioles double plays in the game.

Cedric Mullins (1 for 4), Trey Mancini (1 for 3, 1 BB) and Tyler Nevin (1 for 3) made up the rest of the Birds hit “parade”.
