The Baltimore Orioles lost 7-6 to the Seattle Mariners in 10 innings Thursday night. A three-run sixth inning for the Birds tied the game at 6. That inning was followed by four scoreless innings for the Orioles; in the end, the Mariners were a run better.

The Orioles only had two baserunners over the final four innings and one of them was the ghost runner in extra innings.

Austin Hays (2 for 5, 2 Runs Scored, 2 RBI) extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a first inning single. In the Seattle half of the first inning Hays cut down Jesse Winkler at third base; Winkler was trying to stretch his lead-off double.

Not to be outdone, Cedric Mullins (2 for 4, 2 doubles, 1 Run Scored, 2 RBI, 1 BB) cut down Luis Torrens at second base in the fifth inning.

Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 4 with a double, 1 RBI and a walk.

Trey Mancini went 1 for 5 with a double and a run scored.

Starting pitcher Jordan Lyles allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits, walked 2, struck out 3 and threw a wild pitch in 5.0 innings of work.

Joey Krehbiel (0.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) left the game with right shoulder discomfort in the sixth inning.

The pitcher of record was Jorge Lopez (3-3) who pitched 2.1 innings allowing the unearned run in the 10th on 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.
