Keeping up with their pattern, the Orioles staged a late comeback on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, scoring three runs in the final three innings. Unfortunately they fell short and lost 4-3. Trailing 3-2 entering the ninth inning, Bryan Baker (2.0 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 3 K) gave up a RBI double to Christian Arroyo in what turned out to be an insurance run.
In the home half of the ninth, Jorge Mateo (2 for 4, 2 Runs Scored) tripled with one out and then Kyle Stowers (0 for 2, 2 RBI) grounded out to knock in Mateo. The comeback ended when Rougned Odor (0 for 2) lined out to deep center.
Adley Rutschman went 2 for 4 while Ramon Urias went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored.
Kyle Bradish (1-5) made the start and allowed 3 runs on 9 hits while striking out 6 and surrendering a Kike Hernandez homerun and hitting a batter in 5.2 innings of work. Bradish took the loss.
