The unicorn that is Shohei Ohtani was on full display Monday night in Baltimore. The fans in attendance (20,148) were able to witness Ohtani on both sides of the ball. Ohtani the starting pitcher (7.0 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 5 K, WIN) looked a bit human, allowing three Baltimore homeruns, but Ohtani the batter (4 for 5, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, 1 BB) looked a bit superhuman, blasting a 456′ homerun all the way to Boog’s B in right center field in the fourth inning.
Shohei Ohtani knew he got all of this one.

Five Baltimore relievers (Logan Gillaspie, Austin Voth, Bryan Baker, Danny Coulombe and Mike Baumann) combined to cover the final 5.2 innings and collectively allowed 1 run on 8 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
