The Baltimore Orioles lost 4-0 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. As if the loss on Mother’s Day was not enough, 17 of the Orioles 27 outs were by strike out and they did not work Pittsburgh pitching for a walk; it was a day of futility.

Gunnar Henderson (1 for 4, 3 K) had the Orioles only extra base hit, an eighth inning double.

Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 with 1 strike out while Anthony Santander went 1 for 3 with a stolen base, was hit by a pitch and had no strikeouts.

Ryan Mountcastle and Kyle Stowers both went 0 for 4 with 4 strikeouts.

Taking the loss was starter Kyle Gibson (4-3) who allowed 4 runs 0n 7 hits with 3 walks, 5 strikeouts and a wild pitch thrown over 5.0 innings.
