Despite the best efforts of Dean Kremer (5-2), the Baltimore Orioles fell to the Texas Rangers by a score of 5-3 Saturday. In front of a crowd of 37,939 on Ryan Mountcastle Bobblehead Day, Kremer gave the team a quality start, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 5 in 6.1 innings of work. He was “rewarded” for that effort with one in the loss column.
Mountcastle went 1 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and was hit by a pitch.
Relievers Bryan Baker (0.2 IP, 1 R, 2 H) and Mychal Givens (0.2 IP, 1 UER, 1 H) both gave up runs to Texas while Keegan Akin (1.1 IP, 2 H) kept them off the board.
Austin Hays (1 for 3, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB) opened the Orioles scoring by hitting his sixth homerun of the season in the 7th inning.
