Despite the best efforts of Dean Kremer (5-2), the Baltimore Orioles fell to the Texas Rangers by a score of 5-3 Saturday. In front of a crowd of 37,939 on Ryan Mountcastle Bobblehead Day, Kremer gave the team a quality start, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 5 in 6.1 innings of work. He was “rewarded” for that effort with one in the loss column.

Mountcastle went 1 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and was hit by a pitch.

Relievers Bryan Baker (0.2 IP, 1 R, 2 H) and Mychal Givens (0.2 IP, 1 UER, 1 H) both gave up runs to Texas while Keegan Akin (1.1 IP, 2 H) kept them off the board.

Austin Hays (1 for 3, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB) opened the Orioles scoring by hitting his sixth homerun of the season in the 7th inning.

The Baltimore ninth inning rally started when Hays walked with two outs. Mountcastle’s double scored Hays. Ramon Urias (1 for 4, 1 RBI) doubled Mountcastle home. The rally ended with James McCann’s (1 for 4, 1 2B) swinging strikeout.
