The Baltimore Orioles dropped Wednesday’s game 10-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers opened the scoring with a first inning homerun and finished the scoring with ten runs by the seventh inning. On the flip side, the Orioles were limited to two hits over those seven innings and had their side retired in five of those seven innings and six times in the game overall.

The Orioles avoided a shutout by plating two runs in the ninth inning. Singles by Jorge Mateo (1 for 3, 1 run) and Ramon Urias (1 for 1, 1 run) followed by an Adley Rutschman (0 for 3, 1 BB) walk loaded the bases. An Austin Hays (1 for 4, 1 RBI) single scored Mateo and then Ryan McKenna (0 for 1) grounded into a double play that allowed Urias to cross the plate.

Dean Kremer (6-3) struggled, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits (2 HR) while striking out 5 and hitting a batter in 5.0 innings. Kremer was tagged with the loss.

Bruce Zimmermann took one for the team. He relieved Kremer and kept the bullpen idle by throwing 3.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits (1 HR), striking out 4 and hitting a batter.

Manager Brandon Hyde was ejected in the fifth inning for questioning home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt’s strike zone.
