The Baltimore Orioles avoided a series sweep on Sunday by beating the Chicago Cubs by a score of 6-3. The Orioles were finally able to string hits together off of Chicago hurlers in the sixth inning and put up a crooked number.

The inning started with a Ryan O’Hearn (2 for 4, 2 runs) single. Aaron Hicks (2 for 3, 1 2B, 1 run, 1 BB, 1 SB) doubled him to third and he scored on a Ramon Urias (1 for 3, 2 RBI) sacrifice fly. Adam Frazier (1 for 4, 1 run, 1 RBI) singled Hicks home and then scored himself following singles by Ryan McKenna (1 for 2) and Jorge Mateo (1 for 4, 1 RBI).

Anthony Santander (2 for 5, 1 HR, 1 run, 1 RBI) homered in the fourth inning to open the Baltimore scoring and a RBI double by Adley Rutschman (1 for 5, 1 2B, 1 RBI) in the ninth finished it.

Austin Hays went 3 for 4 with a double and 1 run scored.

Dean Kremer (8-3) took the mound and allowed 3 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits (2 HR), walked 2 and struck out 7 in a 5.0 inning start.

The bullpen took it from there and kept the Cubs off the scorebird with Felix Bautista (1.0 IP, 1 K) recording his 19th save for the winning pitcher Kremer.
