In a scoreless game through six and a half innings, Adley Rutschman (1 for 3) led off the bottom of the sixth with a single. Jorge Mateo (0 for 1, 2 R, 1 RBI, 2 SB) pinch-ran for Rutschman and scored on an Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 3, 1 2B, 1 R, 1 RBI) double. Heston Kjerstad (1 for 1, 1 RBI) singled to plate Mountcastle for the inning’s second run.

Jordan Westburg (1 for 1, 1 R) singled, Gunnar Henderson (1 for 4, 1 2B, 1 R) doubled, Mateo reached on a fielder’s choice and Anthony Santander (1 for 4, 2 RBI) singled to put three more runs on the board in the eighth inning.

Manager Brandon Hyde used 13 players in the game, pinch-hitting as needed.
Kyle Gibson started and allowed 7 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4 over 5.0 scoreless innings.
Bruce Zimmermann (2-0), just recalled on Friday, recorded the win with a 2 hit, 2 strikeout, 2.0 inning effort.
