Saturday’s other split-squad game resulted in a 3-2 win for the Baltimore Orioles over the Toronto Blue Jays in Sarasota, FL. A not quite sellout crowd of 7,210 fans were in attendance, pushing the Spring 2024 attendance at Ed Smith Stadium to over 100.000 fans in total.

The game was played under the sad circumstance of news of the passing of owner Peter G. Angelos.

Corbin Burnes gave the Orioles a solid start, allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits with 4 strike outs over 5.1 innings. Toronto didn’t touch Burnes for a run until the fourth inning.

Tyler Wells (3-0) closed out the game by holding the Blue Jays scoreless over the final 3.2 innings. Wells allowed 4 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4 to earn the win.

Anthony Santander (1 for 3, HR, R, 2 RBI) played a big role in the Baltimore scoring, knocking in Adley Rutschman (0 for 0, R, 2 BB) with a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning and homering to right field in the sixth inning.

Gunnar Henderson went 1 for 3 with a double and scored a run.

Errol Robinson went 1 for 1 with a double and a stolen base.

Ramon Urias went 2 for 2 and Jorge Mateo went 1 for 3 with a double.
