Minor League Game Summaries 4/21

Ryan McKenna is off to a strong start in High A Frederick, following a strong second half last year in Delmarva. He went 3 for 4 with a HR, 2 doubles, and a walk. The 21 year old CF and leadoff man has a .891 OPS so far this season. He is the Orioles Hangout Player of the Day.

Norfolk Tides (7 – 6) Lost 8 to 6 (11 innings) – Triple A

  • Jimmy Yacabonis pitched 5 scoreless innings of 2 hit ball, with 1BB and 3K in his longest outing of his professional career.
  • Jaycob Brugman went 3 for 5 with a triple.

Bowie Baysox (9 – 6) Won 4 to 3 (12 innings) – Double A

  • Jay Flaa struck out the side in the 11th and 12th innings only allowing 1 walk and no hits to get the win.
  • Paul Fry also pitched 2 scoreless innings, striking out 2 and only allowing 1 walk. The lefty now has thrown 10.1 innings without allowing an earned run.
  • Martin Cervenka went 3 for 5 with a double and a walk.

Frederick Keys (6 – 11) Lost 12 to 10 – Class A Advanced

  • Preston Palmeiro also had a HR and he added a triple in a 2 of 5 performance.
  • Jake Ring had his best game of the young season, hopefully breaking out of an early season slump with a 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a walk, and a SB.

Delmarva Shorebirds (12 – 4) Won 5 to 4 (10 innings) – Class A

  • Brenan Hanifee pitched 7 strong innings with 4H, 3ER, 2BB, and 8K. His ERA is 3.32 on the year.
  • Seamus Curran went 3 for 5 with 2Ks. He has an .825 OPS so far.
