Manny Machado had a perfect night at the plate. He finished 4-for-4 with two home runs, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored. He’s the Orioles Hangout Player of the Game!

Starting Pitching

  • Chris Tillman continued to struggle to keep runs off the board tonight. One has to wonder if the Orioles will continue to run Tillman out there after this latest rough outing leaves him with an 8.39 ERA. Final Line: 4 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 0 K, Loss.

Relief Pitching

  • Alec Asher worked 1.2 scoreless innings.
  • Richard Bleier picked up the last out of the 6th. He left with one out in the top of the 7th and the bases loaded in a tie ball game.
  • Miguel Castro came on in a tough spot and worked out of the jam with a strike out and a groundout to first. Castro picked up his first major league win tonight.
  • Mychal Givens worked a perfect 8th.
  • Brad Brach allowed a couple baserunners but closed out the game in the 9th. That’s his 13th save of the year.

Hitting

  • Jonathan Schoop homered in the 2nd, his 14th of the season.
  • Adam Jones hit the go ahead RBI double in the bottom of the 7th. That clutch hit proved to be the difference in this one.

Defense

  • Welington Castillo picked off a runner at second in the 1st inning. He later made a nice grab on a pop fly in foul territory by the dugout railing.
