Orioles fall in Extras Again 4-2

Richard Passwater

A very well pitched game by two rookies went for naught after a series of errors and miscues lead to four Mariner runs.

Jimmy Yacabonis made his first career start and allowed two runs over four innings of work. He struck out five allowed six hits and walked one. Nellie Cruz tagged him with a homer.

Piggy Back Starter Yefry Ramirez pitched five innings, allowing three hits and striking out five. He was magnificent and took the Orioles to Extra innings.

The Orioles offense consisted of two solo home runs. One from the soon to depart Manny Machado and one from the permanent Baltimore fixture Chris Davis.  He “feels like a new man.”

Miguel Castro pitched the tenth inning allowing three hits and two runs to take the loss.

A comedy of “errors” lead to this demise with both Steve Wilkerson and Colby Rasmus commiting costly gaffs.
