Starting Pitcher: Asher Wojciechowski (0-1, 3.86)

Kolten Wong is becoming the National League version of Gleyber Torres as opened up the game against Asher Wojciechowski with a solo home run to give the Cardinals a quick 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 4th, after getting Tyler O Neill to strike out, Wojciechowski grabbed at his elbow bringing Brandon Hyde and the Orioles trainer out. After a short conversation he walked off the mound with both as Hyde brought in Wilmer Font to make his Orioles debut. That doesn’t look good and we’ll get you more news as soon as we know. Wojciechowki ends that day with allowing one run on three and a third innings, striking out four.

The Orioles threatened in the top of the 5th with two outs when back to back singles by Hanser Alberto and Mason Williams and a Font walk loaded the bases. That brought up Andrew Velasquez who weakly grounded out to 2nd to keep to the Orioles shutout 1-0.

With two out in the top of the 7th the Orioles threatened again when Alberto doubled putting a runner in scoring position for red-hot Williams. Williams scorched a liner up the middle but center fielder Harrison bader came and threw a one hop strike to Molina who tagged out Alberto at the plate, keeping 1-0 Cardinals.

The Cardinals though finally got to Font in the bottom of the 7th as Paul DeJong led of the inning with a solo homer to left to make it 2-0. That brought out Hyde who brought in Shawn Armstrong. After getting an out, Yadier Molina drew a walk and St. Lois brought in Austin Dean to hit for the pitcher. Armstrong induced a tailor made double play to Rio Ruiz at third base, but he sailed a throw to Alberto at second base for an error, putting runners on 2nd and 3rd for the dangerous Wong.

Armstrong though was up to the task as he got Wong to fly out to center before getting Paul Goldschmidt to ground back weakly to him for the final out and keep it 2-0.

The Cardinals bullpen was up to the task as well as they put to down the final six Orioles batters to finish off the shutout win, 2-0. Another poor offensive outing by the Orioles who actually managed to out-hit the Cardinals seven to six, but could not get a runner across the plate. The Orioles fall to 2-6.

Orioles Player of the game: Mason Williams (3-for-3)
