There has been much discussion about and finger-pointing towards the MLB baseballs in 2022. Apparently that is not the only issue MLB has; there seems to be a problem with the dugouts as well, at least as far as Anthony Santander is concerned. The Orioles outfielder would rather be on base than in the dugout. Santander extended his on-base streak with a sixth inning homerun and finished the night going 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Sadly, those two runs would be all the Birds scoring in a 5-2 loss to the New York Yankees. After spotting the Yankees a two run lead, Santander tied it up in the sixth only to see the New Yorkers retake the lead on a Giancarlo Stanton RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. Two more Yankees runs in the seventh inning put the game out of reach.

Tyler Wells made the start and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, including a Stanton two run homerun, and struck out 4 in 5.0 innings of work.

Reliever Joey Krehbiel would be tagged with the loss for his 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk and 1 strike-out one-third of an inning performance.

Ramon Urias went 2 for 4, Cedric Mullins went 1 for 4 with a run scored and Jorge Mateo doubled during a 1 for 3 night that saw him get picked off second and caught stealing third in the third inning.
