The Baltimore Orioles did not play a fourth consecutive extra-inning game on Wednesday. They did, however, defeat the New York Yankees 9-6 in the Bronx to even the series. An eight run seventh inning proved to be the winning combination.

Trailing 5-1 and still facing Yankee pitcher Nestor Cortes (career 4-0 record vs. O’s) entering the seventh, the Orioles put up a crooked number. Adam Frazier (1 for 4, 1 R, 3 RBI) started the run parade with a three-run homerun, his sixth of the season. Three batters later, pinch hitter Gunnar Henderson (1 for 1, 1 R, 2 RBI) doubled in two more runs. A sacrifice fly by Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI) and singles by Anthony Santander (1 for 3, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB) and Austin Hays (2 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI) plated the final three runs of the inning.

Mike Baumann (4-0), who pitched the sixth inning, was the beneficiary of the 12 batter, 8 run seventh inning as he was credited with the win. Bauman relieved starter Tyler Wells, who faced 22 batters and allowed 5 runs on 5 hits (3 HR) with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in 5.0 innings.

Mychal Givens, pitching in his third game in a row (over 4 days) after coming off the IL, allowed 1 run and walked 2 in one-third of an inning.

Felix Bautista (1.0 IP, 1 BB, 2 K) earned his 12th save of the season. Bautista issued what looked to be an unintentional-intentional walk to Aaron Judge sandwiched between strikeouts to Gleyber Torres and Anthony Rizzo (the final out of the game).
