Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners allowed the Baltimore Orioles to win another series. In addition, the Birds showed their resilience by winning two games after Friday’s 13-1 loss. Anthony Santander set the tone early when he made a leaping catch of a Julio Rodriguez fly ball in the first inning, robbing J-Rod of what was destined to be a homerun over the ground crew’s pen.

Santander didn’t stop with that highlight catch; he hit a two run homerun in the third inning that tied the game at two apiece. The homerun was his third in as many days and his fifth in the last six games; he now has 14 on the season. Santander finished the game going 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Kyle Bradish (4-3) took Santander’s catch and ran with it, giving the team a quality start. Bradish allowed 2 runs on 2 hits (1 HR), walked 2 and struck out 7 in 7.0 innings of work and had a string of 11 Mariners retired in a row. Post-game Bradish was quoted as saying, “That was almost the highlight of my game right there, to have that in the first inning kind of fired me up” when asked about the catch.

Jorge Mateo went 1 for 2 with a double, 2 runs scored, a walk and a stolen base.

Gunnar Henderson went 1 for 4 with a double.

Felix Bautista faced four batters in the ninth, allowing a hit and striking out three to earn his twenty-first save of the season.
