Former Baltimore Manager Buck Showalter returned to Oriole Park at Camden Yards Friday and was given a video tribute on the scoreboard before the start of the game. In typical Showalter fashion, he acknowledged the tribute with a subtle tip of the cap. The niceties ended there, however, as the Orioles defeated the New York Mets 10-3 in front of 29,550 mostly orange-clad fans.

Former Met James McCann paced the offense by going 3 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored, 5 RBI, a walk and a stolen base.

Jordan Westburg followed McCann’s lead and had a 2 for 3 night with a homerun, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and 2 walks.

Gunnar Henderson went 2 for 5 with a double and 1 run scored.

Ramon Urias went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Dean Kremer started and lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts on 87 pitches (53 strikes). Kremer was relieved by Mike Baumann (9-0), who threw a very efficient 1.2 innings by throwing 10 pitches (8 strikes) to retire the four batters he faced as well as the two baserunners he inherited. Baumann earned the win for the Orioles.

Shintaro Fujinami allowed 1 hit in 1.0 inning of relief.
