For the second night in a row, the Baltimore Orioles lost a game to the Houston Astros, falling 8-2 on Wednesday. And for the second night in a row, Kyle Tucker homered off Orioles pitching; Tucker actually did it in consecutive at-bats, his last on Tuesday (grand slam homerun) and his first on Wednesday (two-run homerun).

The Orioles did all their scoring in the fourth inning when Austin Hays (1 for 4, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI) hit a two-run homerun, his 10th of the season, to right-centerfield. Hays also made a catch at the wall in left field that robbed Chas McCormick of a would-be homerun to open the eighth inning.

Adley Rutschman went 2 for 5 with a triple.

Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 2 with a run scored and 2 walks.

Starter Jack Flaherty (8-7) worked through 5.0 innings, throwing 98 pitches (62 strikes) while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits (1 HR) with 2 walks, 8 strike outs and 2 hit batters. In the end, Flaherty took the loss.

The newest Oriole, Jacob Webb, struck out the side in the sixth inning.

Shintaro Fujinami (0.2 IP, 3 R, 3 BB) recorded two outs in the eighth and then walked the bases loaded before being relieved by Mike Baumann (1.1 IP, 2 R, 4 H).
