The Baltimore Orioles closed out their penultimate West Coast road trip with a 12-1 win over the Oakland A’s. The Birds struck early and kept the scoring going through four innings to lead 7-0, while the pitching ket the A’s off the board until the seventh inning.

American League ROY candidate Gunnar Henderson showcased his skills by going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, a triple, a homerun, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Having poped out in the first inning, he then made a bid for the cycle with a double in the third, a triple in the fourth and a homerun, his 21st, in the seventh. Henderson batted in the eighth needing only a single for the cycle and in a seven pitch at-bat, fouled off three two-strike pitches befor hitting a ball down the right-field line into the outfield corner for a double; he put the team above self by not “slipping” to stay at first for a single.
