The Baltimore Orioles left the Arizona desert with an 8-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. The win maked another series win for the Orioles and allowed them to remain 2.5 games ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East standings.

The four runs in the sixth were significant to overcome what appeared to be a bad call in the fifth. With Geraldo Perdomo on first, Corbin Carroll hit a ball to Gunnar Henderson (2 for 5, 1 R, 2 RBI) who attempted to tag Perdomo out but Perdomo veered to the left and in the opinion of second base umpire Tom Hanahan, did not leave his established baseline to be called out.

The sixth inning started with a Ryan O’Hearn (2 for 5, 1 2B, 1 R, 2 RBI) double. Cedric Mullins (3 for 5, 1 R, 1 RBI) knocked him in and scored on a Jordan Westburg (1 for 2, 1 2B, 1 R, 1 RBI) pinch hit double. Finally, an Adley Rutschman (1 for 4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB) double knocked in both Ramon Urias (2 for 4, 2 R, 1 BB) and Westburg.

Anthony Santander went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 walk and a stolen base.

Jack Flaherty started and for the fourth game in a row failed to pitch six innings. Flaherty allowed 4 runs on 6 hits (2 HR) with a walk, 7 strikeouts and a wild pitch thrown in 4.2 innings of work. He now has tallied two consecutive no decisions.

Danny Coulombe (5-1) pitched 1.1 innings with 1 strikeout and earned the win.

In his return to Baltimore, Jorge Lopez pitched the eighth inning, striking out 1.
