O’s Limited To 3 Hits In Nightcap Loss

The Baltimore Orioles were limited to three hits in game 2 of Sunday’s double header as they fell to the Detroit Tigers (21-33) by a score of 4-1. Once again, Trevor Rogers (2-6) failed to get past 5.0 innings; he now has six consecutive starts of 5.0 innings or less.

Rogers threw 90 pitches (57 K’s) over 4.2 innings and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2. Dillon Dingler touched him for a two-run homerun in the first inning. He proceeded to retire the next 11 Detroit batters before allowing a 2-RBI single to Kevin McGonigle with the bases loaded in the fifth, ending his night.

Andrew Kittredge (0.1 IP) and Albert Suarez (4.0 IP) kept the Tigers scoreless but the Orioles’ offense did not cooperate.

Baltimore’s lone run came in the fourth inning. Adley Rutschman (0 for 2, 2 BB) walked, advanced to third on Pete Alonso‘s (1 for 3, BB) and scored on a Samuel Basallo (1 for 2, BB) sacrifice fly.

The Orioles managed just a single hit and three walks the rest of the way.
