Friday night at Camden Yards was Cedric Mulins tee-shirt giveaway night. Fans not only got a free tee-shirt, they also saw the current losing streak end with a 7-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, both courtesy of Mullins.

Mullins, whose performance is worthy of an All-Star nod, led off the home half of the first inning with his 10th homerun. He added a second homerun, a three-run blast, in the eighth inning. Mullins finished the night by going 3 for 4 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. He also was hit by a Patrick Murphy pitch to start the 7th inning.

The team followed Mullins lead, even though all they needed to win was his production. Austin Hays went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Freddy Galvis went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and 1 RBI. Maikel Franco added a 1 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk effort while Pat Valaika went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Thomas Eshelman, added to the 40-man roster earlier in the day, pitched a solid 4.2 innings. He allowed 1 run on a Lourdes Gurriel, Jr homerun in the 5th, 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3. A quartet of relievers, Tyler Wells, Tanner Scott (1.0 IP, 1 BB,2 K), Hunter Harvey (1.0 IP, 2 K) and Paul Fry (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K), did the rest. The group combined to allow one lone hit and Wells (1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K) was credited with his second win of the season.

Time now to go for two in a row.
