The Orioles played catch-up with the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night. The game was an early back and forth affair until the Blue Jays took a two-run lead in the 4th inning. The O’s chipped away at that lead and tied the game in the 7th, only to fall 5-4 in the end.
Matt Harvey started and only lasted 4.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, walking 1 and giving up a Marcus Semien homerun in the first inning. The trio of Connor Greene (1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K), Tanner Scott (1.0 IP, 2 H) and Jorge Lopez (0.2 IP, 1 K) held the Blue Jays in check, allowing the Orioles to tie the game. Dillon Tate allowed 1 run on 1 hit and hit a batter in one-third of an inning and took the loss.
Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI and 2 walks while Trey Mancini went 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI,
Cedric Mullins went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI and a walk.
Jorge Mateo went 1 for 3 with a double, 1 run scored and a walk.
The loss certainly was a tough start to a new month.
