Miley Deals and Orioles Homer 4 Times In 7-5 Victory

Mark Trumbo got the scoring going in this one with a two-run blast in the 1st, his 8th of the season. He finished 3-for-4 and is the Hangout Player of the Game.

Starting Pitching

  • Wade Miley is tired of leading the MLB in free passes and took a big step forward towards ending that trend tonight (hopefully). Miley issued just one walk tonight over 7 strong innings of work and picked up a well deserved victory. Final Line: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 3 K, Win.

Relief Pitching

  • Mike Wright was took over in the 8th and worked a scoreless inning. Things went sour in the 9th as three runs came to pass, two of which were inherited runners that scored against Donnie Hart. Hart was brought in with two outs in the 9th and served up a three run homer to Jackie Bradley, Jr. Hart retired the next batter though to preserve the win.

Hitting

  • Chris Davis homered for the second consecutive night, bashing his 12th of the season in the 4th inning.
  • Adam Jones tacked on a solo shot of his own in the 6th, his 10th homer of the season.
  • Jonathan Schoop hit a key three run blast to cap off a 4-run 6th. Schoop’s 8th homer of the season proved to be the difference in this one.
  • Manny Machado went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
  • Trey Mancini went 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
