The O’s Broke The Curse Of The Quatro

The Baltimore Orioles have been unable to string together four consecutive wins so far this season. Tuesday night the Orioles were able to put together a string of four, losses that is. The Chicago White Sox (45-39) extended Baltimore’s current losing streak to four games by winning 9-3.

The game went off the rails in the third inning when the White Sox scored 7 runs before an out was recorded. Colson Montgomery hit a two-run homerun and Junior Perez added a three-run shot in the inning. The 7 run outburst marked the end of the night for Orioles’ starter Trey Gibson (1-3). Gibson left the game having allowed 8 runs on 7 hits (2 HR) while walking 6 and striking out 5 across 2.2 innings of work.

Josh Walker relieved Gibson and allowed a run on 2 hits with a strike out in 1.1 innings. The bullpen covered the final 5.0 innings of the game but saw little support from the offense.

Gunnar Henderson (2 for 5, 2 R) singled to open the first inning and came around to score on a Samuel Basallo (2 for 3, BB) RBI-single.

Henderson doubled to right field and scored on a Dylan Beavers (1 for 4) double in the fifth inning. Beavers scored on a Pete Alonso (1 for 3, BB) RBI-single.

The Orioles failed to capitalize with runners on first and second base in the sixth inning. Nine of the next ten Orioles’ batters were retired to end the game.

At this point the Orioles have become predictable and difficult to watch.
