Game 162 of the 2026 season never occurred. For the first time in franchise history, the Baltimore Orioles failed to complete a 162-game schedule. In conjunction with MLB, the New York Yankees (93-68), cancelled the game at approximately 4 pm.
In all honesty, this was a fitting end to a highly disappointing 2026 season. Baltimore finished with a 79-82 record, bad enough for 4th place in the American League East. It marks the seventh time in the last ten seasons that the Orioles finished with a losing record.
For those who follow such things, the Orioles did win one more game than their Pythagorean W-L prediction (79-83).
The team and the fans now move on to an uncertain off-season filled with possible player movement, that is if an agreement is reached on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the 2027 season and beyond.
