The Scottsdale Scorpions (10-11) shutout the Mesa Solar Sox 3-0 on Friday. Scottsdale pitching, led by Baltimore’s Noah Denoyer (3-1), limited Mesa to two hits. Denoyer started and earned the win with a solid 5.0 inning effort. The right-hander allowed 1 hit, walked 4, struckout 4 and threw a wild pitch; he threw 71 pitches (39 strikes) in the effort.

Cesar Prieto went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

Reed Trimble went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
