The Baltimore Orioles left Washington, D.C. with a two-game sweep of the Nationals on Wednesday night following their 6-2 win. The sweep means that the Orioles won the “Battle of the Beltways” three games to one.

Gunnar Henderson led the way for the Orioles at Nationals Park. The 2019 second round draft choice went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple, 1 run scored and 4 RBI. Henderson’s triple came with two aboard in the 7th inning and was capped off with him scoring on a throwing error at the end of the play, making the “most exciting play in baseball” even more exciting.

Jorge Mateo went 1 for 4 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Cedric Mullins went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored after pinch hitting for Ryan McKenna (0 for 2) in the 7th inning.

Austin Hays went 1 for 5 with a double.
