The Scottsdale Scorpions (5-6) shutout the Glendale Desert Dogs 2-0 on Friday. It was the first shutout of the 2022 AFL season, even if it came on a Friday 7 inning game. Los Angeles Angels prospect Connor Van Scoyoc (1-1) faced 18 batters over 5.0 scoreless innings, allowed 3 hits, struck out 3 and hit a batter to get the win.
Cesar Prieto went 2 for 3 with a triple and 1 RBI.
Reed Trimble went 0 for 3.
