The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 on Tuesday. Jordan Westburg (2 for 5, HR, 2 R, RBI) led off the home half of the first with a homerun to right-center. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth, Adley Rutschman (2 for 4, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB) launched a ball 347 ft. to right field that hit above the scoreboard and was ruled a homerun (umpire review) despite what looked like it was touched by a fan; walk-off winner.
Despite the win and the extension of the series non-sweep streak to 105, is there concern for the Baltimore offense? The team was 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position; Baltimore had a runner on second with no outs in the second, had a runner on third with one out in the fourth, had a runner on third with no outs and failed to score each time.
The Orioles appeared to have scored in the eighth but the out call at home on Anthony Santander (2 for 4, 2B) was upheld upon review.
Austin Hays went 1 for 1 with a double in a pinch-hitting role.
Jorge Mateo went 1 for 3 with a double.
James McCann (1 for 4), a beardless Colton Cowser (1 for 3, BB) and Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4) each reorded a hit in the game.
Kyle Bradish started and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3 over 4.0 innings.
The bullpen allowed no hits or runs over 4.0 combined innings and Danny Coulombe (1-0) was credited with the win for allowing one hit in the ninth inning.
